EDUCATION:
2000 – Graduated in Classical Percussion from the Vocational School of Arts in Santa Clara
2005 – Graduated in Classical Percussion from the National School of Arts, Havana, Cuba
WORK HISTORY
2002 – Member of jazz quintet led by saxophonist Román Filiú (former member of Irakere)
2003 – Regular performer with the quartet of trumpet player Alexander Brown
2004 – Member of pianist Emilio Morales’s trio performing traditional Latin jazz. (Morales currently plays with Omara Portuondo)
2004 – Regular performer with the jazz quartet led by saxophonist Orlando Sánchez (Cuba Jazz), alongside renowned guitarist Jorge Luis Chicoy.
2003 – Regular performer with the band of scat singer Bobby Carcassés
2005 – Member of the band led by Cuban novel trumpet player Yasek Manzano, alongside percussionist Changuito Quintana
2005 – Joined the Afro-Cuban rock band Síntesis led by Carlos Alfonso as percussionist (congas, timbales and batá drums) and later on as drummer
2006 – Regular performer with the quartet of saxophonist Ariel Brínguez
2007 – Member of pianist Alfredo Rodriguez’s jazz trio, (performing contemporary jazz)
2008 – Joined the M Alfonso´s band, also as musical director
2009 – Guest musician with a number of jazz bands, e.g. Vargas Quartet (Winner of the Cubadisco Awards in 2007) and X Alfonso’s band (Latin Grammy Nominee in 2001)
2009- Participate in the 2009 Peace Concert in Havana accompanying X Alfonso, sharing with artists such as Juanes, Olga Tañon, Miguel Bose …
2010- He has accompanied the singer Martirio ( from Spain) and Jose Maria Vitier ( Cuba) in the DVD called »El aire q te rodea’’ (The air around you)
2010 – Was part of Camilo Ernesto Vega´s jazz quintet representing Cuban music in a tour in India.
2010- In the Havana Jazz Festival he joined the band of Florance K form Canada
(Winner of ADISQ Award in 2008) and Irish Camaa from Austria (winners of the Hans Koller Award 2007)
2011 -He has been part of Rolando Luna´s jazz trio (pianist of Buena Vista Social Club) and Aldo Lopez Gavilan´s jazz cuartet.
2011- Regular performer with the Band Interactivo alongside trompetist Julio Padrón and pianist Roberto Carcaces (Cubadisco Grand Prize Winner 2009).
2011- Joined the Decemer Bueno´s band cuban composer (Nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2010)
2011- Joined the Alfredo Rodriguez Jazz Trio (After 4 years without playing together )
2012- Joined the Federico Lechner Tango Jazz Trio
2012- Joined the JVera Quartet
2012- Joined the Traditional Cuban Music proyect lead by the piano player Luis Guerra
2012- Joined the Vistel Brothers Quintet
